We gave David two chairs, one of which we found on the side of the road, the other was a broken rocker covered in brown vinyl which my husband called "the ugliest chair in the world". David restored and recovered them and they are now nothing less than unique works of art. Beautifully finished with immaculate attention to detail, they are just gorgeous. We have just sent him our 100 year old falling apart family longue suite and another arm chair which we found by the side of the road lol! Can't wait to see how they turn out!!! He is not an upholsterer, he is a true artists and craftsman. He is very patient with you when it comes to choosing fabric as well!

We have now had David & his team look after 3 seperate furniture renovation projects for us. They turned an old and poorly padded captains chair into a beautiful & comfortable specimen. Two grandfather chairs which were on the verge of being thrown out now have pride of place at home. And for an encore they took 2 x 4 seater leather chesterfields over 28 years old - battered, worn & cracked - and restored them to their former glory. What a wonderful surprise to see them returned in that way. Absolutely stunning. This is real craftsmanship. The care & pride in the work shines through. Great to deal with. Lovely people. Highly recommended.
I paid a $500.00 deposit to have my antique wardrobe restored, with the $1,500.00 balance to be paid on completion of the work. After a considerable amount of time went by, I asked if the wardrobe was finished, only to be told that my wardrobe, which was a family heirloom that had been in my family for about 75 years, was destroyed beyond repair, because the polisher didn't stop his work even after he'd destroyed some of the smaller panels. His excuse was that he didn't want to return the wardrobe to me half done. He didn't offer to replace the wardrobe or refund my deposit.
David of Upholstery Solutions is indeed a Master Craftsman!! Every day that I walk past my "new" lounge I give thanks for David's precision work, passionate creativity and artistry and attention to the finest details. He took something old, uncomfortable but full of family history and love, gave it a new birth in it's 3rd incarnation. I took over the lounge when mum died out of sentiment and to honour her but there was much I didn't like about it. I chose David without recommendation but because I could tell from his website that he was a craftsman and cared - these are rare things today. He exceeded my expectations & they were high. He rebuilt the lounge into the most stunning piece of furniture. It sits in the piano room, turning it into part Soiree Room, part Serengeti, part Hollywood Hills. I am still smiling each time I walk past it months later. I didn't imagine that a piece of furniture could be such a beautiful investment. What a wonderful man and company to deal with.
