So all - this is a farmstay and a proper one at that - so there are animals and dirt and the accommodation is simple, we always self cater so I can't comment about the food. To be honest this is not actually a place I would go if I didn't have kids but our kids LOVE this place and would return every weekend if they could. The people who run the place are lovely and go out of their way to make this a great experience and basically I think all city kids would love a weekend at Mowbray Park.
One of the best places Ive stayed with my little one. We were only the 2nd guests to stay in the Tiny House a little mini house which was perfect for me and my 3 year old. We chose self catered and enjoyed cooking our own food on the bbq or in the little kitchenette of the house. All activities are organised from the morning til late afternoon. Tractor rides, animal feeding, sheep shearing, pony rides, damper making youre never bored. Theres even an awesome playground for the little ones to climb on Old bikes and tractors and pretend play. Tennis courts, swimming pool, archery, fishing, bike riding are all available in the downtime. Cant recommend this enough. Ill certainly be returning again and again.
We've done the whole weekend farmstay and also day visit with our little fam and it's just the Best hands on experience for the kids, they got to feed all the animals , milk the cow, go on tractor rides, pony rides and cooking damper on an open fire as well as canoeing and other fun activities. It's a place we're happy to take them every year because they have so much fun. So definitely worth it in that aspect. I totally recommend Mowbray Park. On a Side note: If you have germophobia, afraid of creepy crawlies and you're a fussy eater - prob best not to stay here overnight and only do the day visit or just try it for the experience.
